Hats aren't just an accessory for special occasions, they'll really reflect your personality. Hats were often considered an extension of a woman's wealth, status and sophistication within the same way a flashy sports car can be to a person.
A Panama, a beanie, bonnet, a trucker or bowler, the wearing of specialized hats for both fashion and protection has evolved spectacularly since an earlier period. An important aspect of human expression, hats can denote the occupation of the wearer, their status in society or cultural heritage.
Namrata Lodha started Myaraa in 2019 at the age of 52 in a drive to make sustainable accessories fun again. This entrepreneurship journey started in a living room with a germ of an idea- (re)introduce the concept of hats as an accessory but with a unique design element in it and grew into a social media community with customers in over 50 countries across the world from Germany to Australia.
Today Myaraa’s hats are designed in a combination of Indo-Western styles and personalised with your name, message, or occasion. This production empowers rural women whose families abandoned them for marrying outside their community or being a widow. The company makes work accessible in rural India for these women making sure that when you buy a sunny hat it comes bundled with the social and financial empowerment of a woman.
